Suffer for a Cause

So, as ever it has been ages since I posted anything on here.because life never gets any quieter.   As a result of this never ending busyness with work, family and church I have not had a chance to post something that is rather important to me.  In a couple of weeks time I will be doing “The Tour of the Highlands” …. Again.  This year is slightly different though in that I am raising money for Integrate Scotland and I would really appreciate your support.  Yes I have set a stupid target to raise (if possible) but it would be fantastic to achieve it so please support in whatever way you can (click on the logo below).  I am far from fit based upon how full life gets and finally whilst last years weather was almost perfect; with Scotland you just never know, its not too late to snow.  So please give your support whilst I blow a gasket getting over some of the killer climbs at this end of the country.

Thanks in advance,

Its all about conflict at the #marriagecourse tonight

Cannot believe it is already week three of The Marriage Course; tonight we will be looking at how to deal with conflict. Last week we had a great evening looking at communication, especially focusing on effective listening, one of the tools that is taught that helps us understand our partners feelings and needs.

A friend of mine sent me a link to this short from Jason Headley that summarises communication so well; what would you do?

If you want to know more or find out about our next course or one near you get in touch or visit for more info.

Spot the tourists.

The last day of our trip was spent touring Tirana, with an eye opening visit to the National History museum: including a section on the horror of the communist reign. Other than this we had a very relaxed and cheery day spent shopping, eating in the restaurant and watching the footy.

However, there was still some emotion as we walked through town when some small children, no older than 7, came desperately begging us for money.

Now we are packing to go so will leave a final sign off message at an airport.
Please pray for more safety as we fly home and that we would have no delays as we are all gonna need some sleep before Soul Survivor tomorrow.
God Bless

“Goodbye everybody, I’ve got to go”

Today was our last day with the children from the kids home. We spent the whole day over there playing games, backing and hitting the town: #ladsontour. The boys went out to the park and got an ice cream which was great fun. Little Aleksi managed to drop his first ice cream instantly and did not bat an eyelid. However, when he had almost finished the second one which got on the house and spent half an hour eating, he managed to also drop it and this instilled a flood of tears… He is still incredibly adorable. The girls baked cakes, painted nails and did each other’s hair whilst we were out and by the time we were back it was already time to go. There were many hugs and tears from both mezzoers and the children, emphasising just how strong the relationship between all of us had been and it was a very moving time.
